I have been meaning to table at an Arty event for many years, probably since I started University back in 2017. I got the opportunity to not only be a vendor at Lazy Joe's event at Base Camp Middlesbrough, but have the honour of creating their Poster too!

Alongside, I worked with the guys at Lazy Joe's to create reel promoting the portrait illustrations I would be selling at the event.

As my first event as a freelancer, it was an amazing experiencing. My personal portraits were a massive hit, and got some (happy!) emotional responses too.

July is Disability Pride Month, and with focusing my final years Masters' project on Disability, I wanted to use this as an opportunity to create colourful characters that represent the different people you could find within this community.

I am disabled myself, with having both mental health conditions and Chronic Fatigue Syndrome, and I feel I have become more comfortable with this just being a part of my life.

My masters' project is to make a webcomic about being disabled, but I am having a focus on more hidden illness and aspects you may not see in the media.
I hope doing these daily illustrations helps to create more awareness for people in this community, and that we do indeed exist!

I have never had to opportunity to fully craft a comic, start to finish, so this was a really nice learning experience that I intend to develop in these next couple terms left on my Postgrad course.

During University and having to do a self-branding project made me very quickly use my visual appearance as my branding identity - that seemed quick and easy to do...

But once I decided to cut my hair...I felt I lost a piece of my illustrative branding, so I tried making a sketchy gif, but I felt it didn't really symbolise me as an Illustrator eventhough I did like the result.

I recently signed up to Skillshare with a free month's trial, and took a short class in illustration brand logo for inspiration.
I've made one Logo design so far, but want to experiment with much more before I settle with one design.
